Venue Spotlight: Moonlit Ridge Estate
The Moonlit Ridge Estate in Otisfield, Maine is an aesthetic dream. The photos on instagram give you a glimpse of what you are stepping into, but nothing prepares you for the atmosphere and the feel of the estate.
After my tour this weekend, I am absolutely enchanted and cannot wait to plan a wedding here. The design is incredibly intentional and every space has been meticulously organized. With space for 14 people, the main house has ample room to accommodate the wedding party. Outside, you have 56 acres of beauty surrounding you all weekend long. This space is ideal for an entire weekend of celebrating and memory making.
The Groomsmen suite is the perfect place to unwind and hang out before the wedding. The honeymoon suite exudes peace and tranquility with a modern twist. A two story space set aside for the bride and groom to have some privacy and bask in the reality of the next chapter of their love story.
The Luna Lounge is where it is at! Every bride needs a space like this to get ready with their besties. The floor length mirrors, the light, the modern furniture, the refrigerator, the steamer, and the pink! Every inch of this room is stylish, inviting, and energetic.
Caterers will love the prep space. A nearly full kitchen with all you need to preserve your incredible masterpieces. A wedding venue that has both function and beauty is always top on my list.
My favorite part about this venue is the owners. They are incredibly friendly, personable, and intentional. I was blessed to have Skyler share some of her thoughts with me. As a planner, it is important to me that my couples feel valued by the venue they choose and that the owners care about their wedding day. I believe Skylar fits this and will make all couples feel welcomed and loved.
What do you want your couples to feel when at Moonlit Ridge?
I want guests to feel that they are able to come to our venue and be able to enjoy their family and friends for the entire weekend.. I want them to feel like they have a beautifully, thought-out space, for every event of their wedding weekend. I want guests to feel that they are in a space that is blank enough to create it into their own vision, but beautiful enough that it doesn’t need a lot. I want couples to be able to come to the space and be there for the entire weekend without ever having to leave or run around and just relax and enjoy their family and friends
What part of weddings most excites you?
I truly love making people feel special and creating special moments in peoples lives. By building this space, we have given people a place to come, where they can transform the space into their own dreams. I am most excited to see how each couple brings the space to life and how they transform it into their own
You mentioned that you want your couples to feel personally valued and not just like another number for the season, in what way does your approach foster this ideal?
We are a family owned company.. my husband and I, along with our children, have created this venue and every inch of it has been thought and planned out to make sure they the weekend is perfect for our couples. We genuinely care about each of our couples and want to ensure that everyone has the perfect weekend.. We are not a large corporate company that just pushes couples through… we will ensure that everything is just what the couple wants, while also continuing to add to our space to make it better then the time before.. this space is a passion project for us. It is a place that brings us so much happiness and we want to share that happiness with all of our couples
What is your best memory from your wedding?
I truly loved planning every detail of my wedding.. I am the crazy bride who wanted to set every single table myself, put up and create every decoration, every floral display, and create every magical moment of the wedding week. I joke that my husband was just as surprised when he showed up to our wedding, we the guests were, but that was my favorite part… bringing joy and fun and memories to my husband and all of our guests
Why did you decide to open a wedding venue?
It has always been my dream of mine to build, design and own a wedding venue. A life long dream. My husband was diagnosed with MS last year, and it really changed a lot of things for our family. While this venue has been my dream, it became a purpose for him and he put so much time and effort into making it all come to life!
