How did I get here?

Welcome to Charity Lynn Weddings! I am so excited that you are here. I’m Charity. Nice to meet you.

Choosing a wedding planner is a big decision. One that takes time, thought, and connection. Before you choose me as your wedding planner, you need to know me. So today, my first blog post, will be all about me!

I launched my own wedding planning business! I have realized a dream, and I am overjoyed! It has been a whirlwind, and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity. I am supported by the love of my life, my incredible husband. We have been married since 2001, and I love him more every day. He is my sounding board on our daily walks, my voice of reason when I start to panic (starting my own business is scary), and my comic relief. My five incredible children and one amazing daughter in law are all cheering me on in different ways. My oldest two are grown and on their own life journeys. My younger three are home and pepper me with questions about venues, photos, and planning. My daughters sit with me as I sift through dozens of photos on Pinterest, creating my own vision boards.

I am a perfectionist in my character, a spontaneous adventurer, a Christ follower, a crazy mama, a lover of flowers, a visionary, and a little bit goofy. I love to travel and have visited nearly all 50 states and three countries. I sing all the time in my house. I am not a gifted singer, but I love music and will belt out any song from any time period and genre even if I only know the chorus. I will create my own interpretative dance routines that truly don’t amaze anyone but entertain anyone who will watch.

I believe in lifelong love. I have seen many examples of love standing the test of time, struggle, and the waves of life. My great grandparents, grandparents, parents, and my own relationship with my husband. Love brings joy and resilience. Love requires patients, humor, commitment, compromise, and a listening ear. In love, I have found true humility and incredible ridiculousness. Love is delightful and daring, and I want to celebrate each couple’s lifelong love story.

I love wedding planning! 16 years ago I “happened” to plan my first wedding for a friend. After that I was hooked. I have spent the last 16 years planning weddings and events. This year I decided to take a leap of faith and focus solely on weddings. I love everything about weddings. The months of planning an intentional gathering to celebrate two people who are so much in love. The groom’s face when he sees his bride walking down the aisle, the bride’s face as she is dancing with her father, the food, the celebrating, the funny and heartfelt toasts, but most of all the individual love stories. I love hearing how my couples met and watching them interact as they share their inside jokes. Weddings are an important chapter in a couple’s love story, and I want to help make it an incredible chapter.
